EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEAKING
Each student draws three topics on current issues; chooses one and has thirty minutes to prepare a speech of a maximum length of seven minutes. Any periodical or other published material is permitted in the preparation room. Students may not refer to any written notes during the speech.
2008 Topic Areas
Group A: US Presidential Politics, US
Constitution Law and Justice, US Mass Media;
Group B: Europe, Asia, Southern Hemisphere;
Group C: Religion and Morality, Business and Finance and Health and Medicine.
All ballots, critiques, and procedures are those used at the Grand National Tournament; local leagues may establish variations.
